The Index Pages

On this website I try to give a complete overview of all the aircraft of World War 2. Yes, you read it correct: all the aircraft. This means you will not only see fighters, bombers or naval airplanes, but also utilitarian, transport, rotary wing etc etc. Of course: the amount of aircraft is huge: more than 600. As a result of limited space and time I will not always be able to provide the same amount of data on all aircraft, but I will strive for this as time and space permits.

I will try to strike the perfect balance between Specific and Generic, between Detailed and Overview, between Technical and Operational. Therefor you might sometimes be a little disappointed in the amount of information I have to offer, or you might be flooded with it. If so, please let me know on the message board. I might find the time to do something about it :-).

There are two ways to browse through the aircraft: sequentially, hopping from one aircraft to another, or via the indexes. To simplify things, I have made a couple of indexes, allowing you to narrow down your search in a way that is most comfortable to you. Currently there are 6 indexes (see below). When you see one index type you like, just click on the picture to hop over:

Index on Country
sorted on country of origin (e.g. the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany), then manufacturer

Index sorted on Manufacturer
sorted on manufacturer (e.g. Fokker, Messerschmitt, Supermarine)

Index on designation
sorted on designation (e.g. G.I, B-17, P-51, Spitfire Mk I)

Index sorted on Manufacturer, with all possible designations
sorted on manufacturer, then all designations. Watch it: it's a big list (e.g. Consolidated B-24, BQ8, HB-24, etc).

Index sorted on Country, then manufacturer, then all designations
sorted on country, then manufacturer, then all designations. Watch it: it's a big list (e.g. United States, Consolidated B-24, BQ8, HB-24, etc).

Index sorted on name, then manufacturer, then all designations
sorted on name, then manufacturer, then all designations. Watch it: it's a big list (e.g. Bacalao, Bleistift, Flying pencil, all Dornier Do 17, etc).

Together with the technical data I will try to provide ID pictures (frontal, side and bottom view), and pictures. The photo's will be my own photo's (as far as possible), or copyright-free photo's. If any of the photo's would happen to have a copyright on them, please e-mail me to let me know.

Enjoy!!!
